Tour description
For those who prefer less driving, this driving tour gives the chance to visit the main attractions as close as possible from Iasi. Not far is located one of the nicest palace in the region, a neo-gothic edifice with a history of centuries behind which in our days is popular as this palace used to be residence of the one who accomplished the first union of the Romanian Principalities.
The journey continues towards the point where the Moldavian Plateau meets the Carpathian Mountains visiting the Neamt Fortress dated back to the 14th Century, once part of the Moldavian defensive system.
Another attraction in the area is "Dragos Voda" Bison Reserve, where you can see an emblematic animal of Moldova, which for a long period disappear on this lands. However, during the 70’s few animals were brought from Poland, this way a program of repopulation was started.
Not far from here is located Agapia Monastery, one of the largest in Romania by number of nuns and popular among the romanian people as here you will be able the see a very unique painting made by the greatest Romanian painter, Nicolae Grigorescu.
After all this nice visits is time to leave them behind for driving back to Iasi.
